The Botanic Gardens Trust employs tradespeople in variety of occupations, such as horticulture and plumbing.

However, the vast majority of trades positions are in horticulture. These jobs involve hands on horticultural development, management and maintenance of the Royal Botanic Gardens turf areas, including pest and disease control, weeding, mowing, edging, computerised record keeping, curation of collections, and the use and maintenance of associated plant and equipment.
