Acacia pustula

Location

This tree comes from the Leichhardt District of Queensland where it occurs on sand or sandy loam over sandstone, in eucalypt woodland or open forest.

It is performing well in our Wattle Arboretum where we have plenty of room.

It is not common in horticulture but it has a lovely form with bright yellow flowers in winter. It grows to 15 m so is not suitable for the average backyard.

Winter is wattle season, so why not visit our Garden over the next few weeks and see this species and others in a blaze of brilliant yellow?
