Brachychiton 'Griffith Pink'Botanical Name: Brachychiton discolor x populneus |
|
LocationThis and many of our other kurrajong species and cultivars are flowering now in our Kurrajong Arboretum if you’d like to see them. |
| This cultivar is a small tree to 10 m tall with conspicuous deep pink flowers which can occur from November to March. The mature leaves have prominent lobes and are maple like in shape. It tolerates a wide range of climate and soils but may be slow growing while young. It is unaffected by frost and very drought tolerant, but responds well to extra water during dry periods. It would make an interesting alternative to the Illawarra Flame Tree, Brachychiton acerifolius, in any reasonably sized garden. |
