Brachyscomes

Scientific Name: Brachyscome spp.

Family: Asteraceae

Brachyscome 'Amethyst'

Location

Brachyscomes are mainly restricted to Australia and New Zealand with many occurring throughout the eastern parts of our country.

At the moment you can see them flower in many parts of Mount Annan, but they are looking particularly good at the Big Idea Garden and the annual beds in front of the Connections Garden.

These daisies grow in a wide range of soil and climatic conditions, such as light to heavy soils, and from the coast to the highest peaks. They are small annual or perennial plants which are ideal for small gardens or as container plants. Because of their natural distribution they are very adaptable to a range of horticultural conditions and flower white, yellow, pink, purple and blue.
