Celebrating 195 years

On Monday 13 June Sydney�s Royal Botanic Garden celebrated 195 years. Many families joined us for our birthday celebrations at our three Botanic Gardens.

It was on this day in 1816 that Governor Lachlan Macquarie pronounced the land on the edge of Farm Cove as Sydney�s Botanic Garden. As Australia�s first botanic garden, first scientific institution and first site used for agriculture, the Royal Botanic Garden has deep national significance.

This day commenced the countdown to our 200th birthday in 2016.

Bicentenary Walking Tours

Supporting the Botanic Gardens Bicentenary 2016

Gifts of all kinds and at all levels are important to the Bicentenary program. Gifts can be made as a single donation or pledged over time. Gifts from individuals may be personal donations or from PAFs. Companies may support in various ways such as via staff contributions, corporate foundations or sponsorship. Every donation counts.

You may make a donation in your own name or chose to make a donation in someone else�s name as a gift or in memoriam. Receipts will be made out in the name of the payer.
