Imagine sipping cocktails in your own tropical paradise!

Asian garden designs feature plants that offer:

  • striking foliage
  • strong colour contrasts
  • tropical scents

'Bamboo screening is one of my favourite ways to create privacy. It’s also a great way to shield any untidy areas in the garden.' (Kristy Mayhew - Garden Designer)

The plants featured in the Asian/Tropical Garden thrive in sandy well-drained soils and can survive lengthy dry periods or monsoonal downpours.

Plants with low water needs used in this garden:

  • Frangipani - deciduous succulent with fragrant flowers in summer.
  • Hardenbergia - Australian native groundcover. A variety developed by the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan.

'It’s often a good idea to group plants with similar water needs for easy management.' (Kristy Mayhew - Garden Designer)

  • Plumeria acutifolia ‘rubra’ (Frangipani)
  • Cordyline australis ‘Red Sensation’ (Cabbage Tree)
