Song of the Forest Red GumYou will find a Forest Red Gum tree (Eucalyptus tereticornis) in the Royal Botanic Garden just north of the Maiden Pavilion on the eastern side of the Royal Botanic Garden. It is a survivor from the natural woodland which once grew around Sydney Harbour. This is a song about that very tree.
Verse 2You said farewell to kangaroos and Aborigines too. You’ve seen a lot of changes. You’ve even had a zoo. You’ve seen the people come and go and buildings rise so high. The horse and cart replaced by new expressways in the sky. |
