The three Gardens have a changing program of hands-on activities designed for children during the school holidays. Activities are fun for the whole family.

Wizards School of Magic

Join the fun at the Wizards’ School of Magic. With an hour and a half of magical craft and fun activities, this should suit wizards of all ages!

When: Saturday 2 June & Saturday 16 June, 11.00 am - 12.30 pm or 1.00 pm - 2.30pm
Where: Waratah Education Centre
Cost: $20 per child (4-16 years). Younger children may attend accompanied by an adult. Adults can attend free of charge.

Adventure Quest - Serpent Stories

Self guided tour for children. Go on a family quest discovering rainbow serpents and megafauna and hop through time to modern Australian animals.

When: All winter

Music, Plants and Culture - NAIDOC: School Holiday Activity

Join Tony Lennon and Brenden Moore for some Music, Plants and Cultural fun. Create your own musical instruments and play along with Brenden, our didgeridoo expert, who will share Aboriginal stories and guide you through the forest. Discover how to use plants to make your own musical instrument.

‘NAIDOC’ is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Indigenous Australians in various fields. NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee and events are held around Australia in July each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Join an adventure into China these school holidays. Follow the Plant Explorer’s Trail through the plants of China and collect some of their treasures. Weave your way through stories and the ancient art of Chinese knotting.
