Leonie Norton
Leonie is a professional botanical artist and international tutor, and one of Australia’s most prominent and highly qualified educators. Her botanical paintings can be found in private and public collections, both in Australia and overseas, including the prestigious Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation in the USA.
Leonie tutors in adult education and art centres in Sydney, extensive workshops in New Zealand and throughout Australia and Summer Schools in regional NSW, WA, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada and the UK. In addition, she runs a Botanical Art External Course, where she teaches students nationwide and globally.
In addition to having exhibited in Botanica since 2000, she also exhibits annually with the Botanical Art Society of Australia. She has also exhibited her paintings in Canada, New Zealand and the UK.
Leonie is past President of the Botanical Art Society of Australia, and a member of the American Botanical Art Society. As well as having numerous magazine articles about her work, she has been illustrating botanical herbs in each edition of Nature & Health Magazine since 2005.
