Deirdre Bean
Deirdre Bean has a popular following in USA, UK and Australia. Her work is held in private collections in Australia, the UK and the USA as well as being part of the prestigious public collection of the Kew Gardens in London. As well as receiving education in Botanical Art and printmaking, Deirdre has also been an RN and Medical Practice Manager perhaps explaining her wonderfully steady hands!
One of her paintings was chosen as the image for the Friends of The Gardens’ Christmas Card in 2004. She has been a previous exhibitor in Botanica as well as having exhibited at the Winchester Art Show and the Royal Horticultural Society, both in the UK and in 2007 took part in the Hunt Institute exhibition for Botanical Documentation in Pittsburgh, USA. Deirdre has been recognised with various awards including the Gold Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society, London in 2006.
