Found Object Jewellery Workshop with Susie Barnes

Susie Barnes has been working with glass for over 18 years, exhibiting her work extensively both in Australia and internationally. Over the course of the last four years she has shifted her focus to making unique items of jewellery that combine glass with a range of everyday materials, such as rubber, buttons and springs, as well as conventional precious metals. She approaches each piece as a canvas for self-expression, producing works that are innovative and distinctly contemporary.

In this workshop you will learn to create individual pieces of jewellery with materials found either at home, at work, from nature, collectibles from the past, memorabilia or scrap materials. Let your imagination run wild ... e.g. old toys, plastics, keys, washers, pencils, rubber off cuts, buttons discarded necklaces. Susie will help plan and problem solve your designs. Come prepared to have some fun! An artistic eye and love of jewellery with a difference are the only requirements!
