Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney Inc is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes and supports the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust at its three Gardens.

Although the Botanic Gardens Trust is primarily funded by the NSW State Government, about 30% of income comes from the private sector. This includes revenue from the restaurants and shops, and significant amounts through donations and sponsorships.

The Friends’ income comes from our fundraising activities, membership fees, and your donations.

We donate funds for special projects in our three Botanic Gardens, the Domain and the National Herbarium, that may not otherwise be possible.

Our current projects include: eradication of the weed African Olive from Mount Annan Botanic Garden; underwater communication system for botanists collecting marine plants; the Spur Track at Mount Tomah Botanic Garden; the restoration of some of the valuable books, prints and original illustrations owned by the Library.

Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
