Trailing, terrestrial fern with short, erect rhizome forming colonies by rooting and proliferating from the tips of the fronds. Longevity indefinite.

Spores: Produced in sori on lower surface of frond. Spores at any time. Spore size 45-60 µm, dispersed by wind.

  • Damp rock crevices in sheltered sites.
  • Rare, few plants confined to sheltered gully in woodland at the Australian Botanic Garden.
  • Probably resprouts after fire.
