Perennial herb with prostrate, ascending or decumbent stems to 20 cm long, with deep taproot 3 mm diameter to 10 cm deep. Longevity 2 - 5 years.

Flowers: Red with pink or white, October - March.

Fruit: Capsule splitting longitudinally with up to 3 seeds.

Seed: 1 x 0.5 mm, Locally dispersed.
