Prostrate shrub with ascending stems to 50 cm long. Longevity 5 - 10 years.

Flowers: Tiny, during winter.

Fruit: Red, fleshy fruit containing one seed, March. Probably bird-dispersed

Seed: Small, black, disc shaped 1 x 0.5 mm in size.
