Vine with stems to 8 m long and large rootstock. Longevity to 20 years.

Flowers: Mauve – white, September – November.

Fruit: Fleshy purple-black berry, 10 – 20 mm diameter, dispersed by animals.

Seed: Numerous black seeds per fruit
