Cobbler’s Tack

Slender rigid, herb with erect stems to 60 cm, leaves deeply lobed. Longevity 1 - 2 years.

Flowers: Yellow, December – April.

Fruit: Cluster of achenes, similar to *Bidens pilosa.

Seed: Achene to 8 mm long with pappus of barbed awns, 1 - 2 mm long. Probably animal dispersed.

  • Drier open woodland and grassland in full sun.
  • Very small population at the Australian Botanic Garden (4 adult plants and 9 seedlings recorded March 2007).
