Wonga Wonga Vine

Woody, glabrous climber with twining branches. Longevity greater than 25 years.

Flowers: Tubular cream with mauve-purple markings, in clusters, June – November.

Fruit: Capsule to 6 cm long splitting to release numerous winged seeds, November – January.

Seed: Winged to 15 mm diameter. Wind dispersed.

  • Sheltered gully habitat.
  • Rare in woodland at the Australian Botanic Garden, one plant only.
  • No seed noted possibly due to lack of pollination.
