Flowers: Summer. Wind pollinated.

Fruit: Dry one-seeded, indehiscent. Inflorescence wind dispersed.

Seed: Fresh seed dormant. Seed reported to be eaten by brown quail Coturnix ypsilophora.

Ecology

• Woodland and grassland habitat in full sun.
• Occasional in woodland and grassland at the Australian Botanic Garden.
• Possible coloniser of disturbed sites.
• Probably killed by fire.
