Prostrate to decumbent perennial , spreading to 30 cm diameter with thick root stock. Longevity indefinite.

Flowers: Yellow, October - May. Possibly butterfly-pollinated.

Fruit: Dry segmented fruit 5 mm diameter, splitting to release segments, January – April.

Seed: Single seed 3 x 2.3 x 2 mm in size, retained in basket-like segment. No specialised mechanism for dispersal. Local dispersal by gravity.
