Flowers: Pale purple-blue at any time of the year.

Fruit: Yellow berry, 20 – 30 mm diameter.

Ecology

• Native of South Africa and Mediterranean, reportedly naturalised near Sydney by 1804.
• Weed of woodlands and grasslands.
• Occasional minor weed at the Australian Botanic Garden.
