Tufted perennial herb 10 – 90 cm high, with thickened taproot.

Flowers: Blue, at any time of year.

Fruit: Capsule 3 – 10 mm long, with numerous seeds.

Seed: oval, red-brown, 0.5 mm long. Locally dispersed.

  • Open grassy habitat, full sun to light shade.
  • Rare in woodland at the Australian Botanic Garden. Localised population in Ironbark woodland.
