Annie Hughes

Born in Santiago, Chile, Annie studied art and design in the UK and at UTS. She studied botanical art at classes in the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney. Annie has practised as a tutor and botanical artist since 2006 and works in watercolour, graphite and gouache.

Annie is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, BASA and the NSW Camellia Research Society Inc. Her group exhibitions include RHS London (2011 and 2012), Botanica (2005, 07, 08, 09, 10 & 12), Canberra Botanical (2006, 07, 08, 09, & 11) and Flora (BASA) (2006, 07, 08, 09 & 10). She has been awarded two gold medals from the RHS, and 1st prizes at Flora. Annie's work is in collections of the Florilegium Society Australia, the Hunt Institute Pittsburgh, USA, the Shirley Sherwood Collection, UK, as well as private collections in Australia, USA, UK, Singapore and Japan.
