Deb Chirnside

Deb is a member of the Geelong Botanic Artists Group and began botanical art classes with Margaret Muffet in 2000. Deb has continued to attend various classes and workshops over the years and is presently studying with John Pastoriza Piñol.

Deb has exhibited and sold her botanical art in a number of exhibitions over the years. These include the 13th International Exhibition of Botanical Art at the Hunt Institute, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, USA in 2010; the Art of Botanical Illustration Biennial Exhibition, Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012, and Botanica 2012 - The Masters and Moore, the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney. In 2010 Deb received an honourable mention in the Celia Rosser Award for botanical art in Melbourne for her painting of Miscanthus sinensis ‘Zebrinus’. Deb’s watercolour painting, Salvia involucrate x karwinskii is held in the State Botanical Collection at the National Herbarium, Melbourne.
