Rainforest Seed Conservation Program - thank you!

Thank you to everyone who supported the Rainforest Seed Conservation Project appeal. Over $90,000 was raised by Foundation & Friends, assisting the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust to match the funds committed by the Arcadia Fund and thus ensuring the projectís success. Australian rainforests are among the most vulnerable ecosystems in the world and face significant threat from climate change, land use and plant diseases. The important work carried out by Trust scientists as part of the Rainforest Seed Conservation Project will protect these endangered plant species from extinction. We look forward to keeping you updated on the developments of this vital project

Congratulations to the Save a Species walk team!

While the rest of us relaxed over Easter the Save a Species Walking Team completed the challenging 123 km hike from Mangrove Mountain to Mount Tomah. Their goal was to raise funds in order to protect three endangered native plant species from extinction. We are pleased to report that the team has gone beyond their fundraising target of $6,000, and due to the overwheliming response to the cause decided to increase their target in the hope they can save more endangered plant species of the Blue Mountains region.

On behalf of the team we would like to thank all those who have generously shown their support. The team has raised over $10,000 which is a fantastic achievement. If you would like to support the walkers it isn't too late, donations can still be made online.
