Who we are

The Friends' mission is to promote enjoyment and understanding of the three Gardens and Domain as outstanding places for horticulture, science, recreation, the arts and education, and to support the Botanic Gardens Trust.

What we do

The Friends offers a great range of activities at our three sites. We raise funds for projects that otherwise might not be possible. The Friends of The Gardens is an independent group, able to lobby to protect the three Gardens from developments that could threaten them. 

What we offer 

- making a donation
- becoming a Waratah member
- buying our merchandise
- buying plants at our Growing Friends’  plant sales
- becoming a Friends’ volunteer

  • Friends' Speakers' Bureau - provides speakers for linterested groups on various topics relating to the Friends or the Botanic Gardens
