For almost 30 years the Friends of the Botanic Gardens (the Friends) has supported the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust (the Trust). With government funding only covering approximately 60% of the Trust’s annual ongoing costs, additional funds are needed to ensure the Gardens continue to be at the forefront of scientific research, important centres for education and places of outstanding natural beauty.

Support the Friends now.

Below is more information about the different types of donations. 100% of every contribution goes directly to projects within the Gardens.

Donate to PlantBank

  • Donate to PlantBank
  • PlantBank will be a world-class research centre, built at the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan as part of the Trust’s Bicentenary plans for 2016.
  • PlantBank is one of the Trust’s most significant science and conservation initiatives in a century. As a world class research facility, PlantBank will provide a permanent Seedbank for future conservation, conduct cutting edge science on our precious plant species and be an innovative centre for education.
  • The Friends aims to raise $750,000 to build the centre’s research and teaching laboratories. Here cutting edge science will occur to help us better understand, and therefore better protect, our plant life for the future. It will also be the site for training our next generation of scientists.
