Julie Nettleton

Julie was born and raised in Manly on Sydney's Northern Beaches. She graduated in Interior Design at the Canberra Institute of Technology and ran her own successful design business for many years.  During that time she also studied oil painting in the old Dutch masters' tradition with Nigel Thomson.

Her work is now devoted entirely to botanical art, mostly in watercolour but occasionally in oils. She exhibits every year at Botanica and with the Botanical Art Society of Australia and is an exhibiting member of the Florilegium Society, Friends of the Gardens Melbourne and Manly Art Gallery and Museum. Julie's work is held in the permanent collections of the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust Sydney and the Victorian State Botanical Collection. The focus and passion of her work is Australian natives.
