George Buchanan

George Buchanan is a multi-skilled artist. She sees art in life around her, and on her, as she is known for her vibrant dress sense and colourful hair. George has lent her creative abilities to many fields, working in several mediums, most commonly using steel. With her keen eye and work ethic she can bring projects to fruition in most arenas. She is a trained prop-maker and scenic artist graduating from NIDA in 2008 with a Bachelor of Dramatic Art-Production Crafts.
Her work has been seen in theatre productions such as A Streetcar named Desire for the Sydney Theatre Company. For Belvoir St Theatre she has worked on Gethsemane, That Face, The Book of Everything, Measure for Measure and The Pillowman. Her NIDA Productions include - Hypochondriac, The Servant of Two Masters, The Kitchen, Shopping and F***ing, Lots in Space, As You Like it, The Seagull, Sweet Charity, Summerfolk, Pericles, Illusions and Hamlet. Her feature film work includes $9.99 and Wolverine.
She has been involved in many different arts related projects for companies and events such as Future Music Festival, MTV music awards, Raggs (Channel 7) Strictly Speaking and Hungry Beast (ABC TV), Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Pusher Productions, Studio Kite, Erth, Wildlife for Hair, The Heart Research Institute, Team Event, Larrikin Ensemble, Griffin Theatre and Bright Young Things.
George is also often privately commissioned for artworks, jewellery and paintings.
No matter what the genre in which George is working, you can always rest assured it's done with love and flair. She is most gracious and elated to be participating in The Kauri Tree Project.
