Minky Grant
'I am a printmaker and jeweller working in silver and gold with precious and semi precious stones. Recently I discovered the beauty and excitement of Australian timbers to fashion into jewellery. I love the freedom of shaping the timber to the grain and using the knots for colour and texture. Mostly I use sterling silver and sometimes gold and often gemstones. I love the challenge of using the timber as a gemstone and setting it in gold and silver. The kauri timber has offered many a challenge and the silky lustre is truly beautiful.'
