Nick Statham

Nick Statham completed a B. Landscape Architecture at UNSW and followed that with a Cert IV in Fine Woodworking at the Sturt School for Wood. He has been designing and making furniture and sculpture since 2000. His work is characterised by the reduction of form using elements in repetition to create visual and structural unity. He runs courses in wood carving at Sturt as well as producing commission and exhibition pieces from his studio in the Central West. His commissions include the Lectern, Priests chair and other liturgical items for the Dalton Chapel at St Ignatius School, Riverview. He won awards from his peers at the Design + Wood shows in 2007 and 2009. He has been described as one of the most talented young wood workers exhibiting in Australia.
