Rosemary Donnelly has a passion for plants and the natural world. Studies in horticulture led to an interest in botanical art, which she has pursued at Geelong Botanic Gardens since 2004. She exhibited in the past three Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne Biennial Art of Illustration exhibitions, and in 2008 Solanum melogena was selected for inclusion in the Illustrated Garden Collection and also in the 2010 Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne calendar. Diospyros kaki ‘Hyakumo’ is included in the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation 13th International Exhibition in Pittsburgh 2010 and is held in the permanent collection. Her Prunus persica was selected for 13th International HSNY/ASBA exhibition. Rosemary is inspired by tutor John Pastoriza-Piñol, artist colleagues and the wealth of plants in the beautiful Geelong Botanic Gardens.
