Discover the art of Photography

What better place to discover the wonderful art of photography than at Australia’s largest botanic garden where you can capture the natural beauty and uniqueness of the Garden. The Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan is offering a series of workshops for budding photographers. Workshops include classroom tutorial on the subject area and practical sessions.

Led by local photographer Martin Sperling, workshops will explore the following themes using the Garden as a backdrop.

  • Landscape Photography - Sunday 17 June
  • Macro Photography - Sunday 8 July

The series culminates in the Budding Photography Competition with six categories including: People in Gardens, Plants and Animals, Landscapes, Up Close and Personal (Macro) and a category for students. The overall winner will receive $500 in prize money with category winners receiving $150. An exhibition of entries will be held at the Garden in mid August.

Workshops cost just $55 per person and are held from 10.15 am to 1.15 pm in the Bowden Centre. The cost includes morning tea. For workshop bookings or information about the competition, contact Scott Andrew on 4634 7933 or email
