Enjoy a sustainable New Year's Eve at the Royal Botanic GardenWe’ve planned a spectacular New Year's Eve for you to farewell 2012 and welcome in 2013! Sydney’s world best New Year celebrations brings crowds of more than 1.5 million people to the foreshore to watch over 80,000 fireworks set off along 6 km Sydney Harbour! With so many people on the foreshore to view the fireworks, we thought you might appreciate the opportunity to grab yourself a little piece of your Garden oasis with all the comforts away from the throng. Harbourlights, our new NYE event is bringing a sustainable focus to our collection of ticketed events, joining Midnight at the Oasis and Lawn with The View as the best places to be on NYE! We’ll be running on green power and bio-fuel so you can welcome in the New Year in sustainable style on a low beach chair that you can take home and reuse! Enjoy the delicious and generous picnic hamper while chilling out to lounge sounds and watching dusk fall over the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. If you feel a little frisky you can play one of our king size picnic games or just watch the fun at one of the bar tables. Wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks will be on sale from the Eco Bar and you can use your complimentary souvenir bottle to refill at the Water Station. No plastic water bottles! Just bring yourself and your ticket! Your start to 2013 will be fantastic! If you want to really indulge this New Year's Eve, then Midnight at the Oasis is the event for you! Sip champagne and watch the sun set over the city skyline for the last time in 2012. Later, enjoy a sumptuous three course meal and drinks at your reserved table. After the 9 pm fireworks the heat turns up and you might find a belly dancer or the DJ’s tunes encourages you to kick up a little dust to the till the evening ends. Your ticket includes all this and a delicious three course dinner, drinks package and reserved communal tables at Fleet Steps. It doesn’t get any better! If you want to show the kids the best fireworks display in the world in a safe space then Lawn with The View is your event. It caters for families and your ticket includes a picnic hamper and a view so close to the Opera House you can practically touch it. All you’ll need to bring with you is a rug to sit on. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. These events sell out every year and any profits go to helping us continue our work in managing public spaces, plant diversity programs, education, science and horticulture.
