The Phillip Precinct commonly referred to as the Domain is the largest open space in the central business district. This historic site is suitable for large concerts, festivals, sporting events and a wide range of community-related activities.
Annual events held in the Phillip Precinct include Sydney Festival’s Summer Sounds, Symphony in the Domain & Opera in the Domain, Field Day, Neon Run, Carols and Mother’s Day Classic.
The Phillip Precinct is conveniently located next to Sydney’s central business district and exceptionally well serviced by public transport including major train and bus connections.
Phillip Precinct venue facilities include power, water, telephone connections, a small permanent public toilet block and separate sewerage connection points for event toilet facilities.
Depending on the type of event, the Phillip Precinct can accommodate up to 40,000 people in open space and up to 25,000 people for ticketed and/or fenced events.
If you are interested in hosting an outdoor public event in the Phillip Precinct please download and review the Outdoor Public Event Proposal Guidelines. The guidelines will assist in gaining an understanding of the event approval process.
Hire fees are determined on submission of a detailed written event proposal.
The Trust encourages you to visit the precinct to assist you in deciding on the best location for your proposed event. Please contact the Events Office Venue Coordinator once you have reviewed the guidelines and selected a site to discuss the suitability of your event prior to submitting a written proposal.
