The Yurong Precinct includes areas such as Fleet Steps, Mrs Macquaries Point, Bridge View Lawn and Mrs Macquaries Road. The Yurong Precinct offers unsurpassed panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Royal Botanic Garden, Farm Cove and the city’s central business district skyline.
This prestigious site has been the preferred location for ceremonial occasions where heads of state have addressed the nation and is a significant site in Australia’s history.
The Yurong Precinct is ideal for outdoor public events that incorporate the world renown backdrop of Sydney’s favourite icons.
Annual events held in the Yurong Precinct include Midnight at the Oasis, St.George Outdoor Cinema, Harbourlife, Harbour Party, Yoga Aid Challenge and NISSAN/BRW Triathlon.
The Yurong Precinct venue facilities include power, sewer connection points, telephone connections, water and a small permanent toilet block.
Fleet Steps site has the capacity for up to 5,000 people in an open space and up to 2,000 people in a seated outdoor capacity.
If you are interested in hosting a outdoor public event in the Yurong Precinct please download and review the Outdoor Public Event Proposal Guidelines. The guidelines will assist in gaining an understanding of the event approval process.
Hire fees are determined on submission of a detailed written event proposal.
The Trust encourages you to visit the precinct to assist you in deciding on the best location for your proposed event. Please contact the Events Office Venue Coordinator once you have reviewed the guidelines and selected a site to discuss the suitability of your event prior to submitting a written proposal.
