An extraordinary exhibition of works by Australia’s finest botanical artistsWelcomeAcknowledged as one of Australia’s leading botanical art exhibitions, Botanica - The Masters & Moore, will be held in the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney from 13 to 28 April, 2013. Presented by Foundation & Friends of the Botanic Gardens, this spectacular collection will feature work from Australia’s premier botanical artists including: Beverly Allen, Deirdre Bean, Annie Hughes, Angela Lober, David Mackay, Elaine Musgrave, John Pastoriza-Piñol, Heather Rankin and Narelle Thomas. All the exhibited artists’ works appear by invitation only with many held in exceptional regard, both nationally and internationally. Visitors to Botanica - The Masters & Moore will be treated to a world-class collection of botanical art. Botanical art remains a popular and highly collectable art form. Originally documenting the natural world for reference, this clear and lucid illustration of plant-life is now appreciated by a wide audience for its contemporary art value. It distinguishes itself from botanical Illustration, the goal of which is scientific accuracy.
