Gevuina avellana

Gevuina avellana

Location

The gevuina features as an ornamental plant at the top of the Brunet Meadow near the Rainforest Walk. It appears as a member of a Gondwanan plant family, on the opposite side of the road, along the woodchip path through the Proteaceae Woodland. It’s a South American representative of those living plants with ancient ancestry, not far from the front drive entrance to the Gondwana Walk, and again near the lowest entrance to this walk. Also, it’s a stunning ambassador for its native country in the Chilean Woodland, below the large pond and the Brunet Pavilion. At the first two locations there are a sprinkling of flowers, and for those keen enough to locate the Chilean Woodland an abundance of blossom awaits.
