Connections GardenThis Garden will be a roofless museum made up of rooms and corridors, vistas and open spaces that will entice visitors to discover and explore the interconnectedness of humans and the natural world. It is intended to give visitors the chance to ‘connect’ with plants. The four major themes will be:
This project is expected to take several years to complete. Stage One, the Water Garden, part of the establishment of the ‘Plants through Time’ theme, has been completed. The next stage will be all about the drying out of Australia in recent geological times and will be located above the 'Room with a View' installation. What’s the Big Idea?The concept for the ‘What’s the Big Idea’ Garden is to reinvigorate the existing Bottlebrush Garden by redesigning it to be more relevant to home gardeners. It will display Australian plants that are available through garden centres. Interpretative messages will include:
In keeping with its resource-saving theme, we intend to undertake this project on a minimal budget, use recycled products and add ideas as the Garden develops. |
