Our Botanic GardensThe Botanic Gardens Trust a New South Wales State Government organisation within the Environment portfolio - under the Minister for Climate Change, Environment and Water. The three Botanic Gardens and the Domain are administered by the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust. The Royal Botanic Garden & Domain The Royal Botanic Garden is a place of natural beauty, where people come for peace, relaxation, education, and to learn more about plants and horticulture. The surrounding parkland of the Domain is a place for sport, entertainment and recreation. The National Herbarium of NSW is located within the Royal Botanic Garden. The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan The sensation of the late 18th century in the field of botany was the discovery of a new continent filled with exotic plants unknown to the rest of the world. The Australian Botanic Garden displays over 4000 of these, set in 410 hectares of hills and lakes.The Garden also contains remnant Cumberland Plain Woodland and houses our Horticultural Research facilities, including the NSW Seedbank. The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, in the world-heritage listed Greater Blue Mountains, is situated 1000 metres above sea level and showcases many beautiful native and exotic plants not suited to Sydney’s climate. |
