Ticketing Information
Q: Where is Lawn with The View event located? A: Lawn with The View is held at Bennelong Lawn an intimate elevated lawn area behind the Opera House inside the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney.
Bennelong Lawn provides a breathtaking and intimate location to watch the City of Sydney Fireworks on New Years Eve. This relaxed picnic style event has become a real favourite with guests. The event allows ticket holders to leave the crowds behind and enjoy the company of others whilst providing uninterrupted views of the city’s fireworks display.
Q: What is included in the ticket price? A: As a ticket holder of the Lawn with The View event your ticket includes entry to Bennelong Lawn an intimate New Years Eve event offering spectacular views of the Harbour Bridge located directing behind the Opera House and a Gourmet Picnic Hamper. A licensed bar with beverages for purchase is located on the event site.
Q: Is there any entertainment at the Event? A: Lawn with a View is a relaxed picnic style event offering patrons background / acoustic sounds only - there is no dance floor.
The Trust’s other ticketed New Years Eve Event Midnight at the Oasis offers a DJ and Dance Floor on the event site.
Q: What time does the event start and finish? A: Gates to the event open at 7.00 pm. Last event entry is at 8.30 pm. Any guests who have not entered by this time will not gain entry to the event.
The event finishes at 12.30 am when all guests are asked to leave. Exit is onto Macquarie Street (same as entry).
Q: What are the seating arrangements? A: Lawn with The View offers ticket holders a picnic style event.
Bring your picnic blanket along and find your preferred lawn location. No chairs will be permitted. Any patrons bringing strollers will be asked to move them to the side to ensure all guests enjoy the spectacular views.
Q: Can I bring Children to Lawn with The View? A: Lawn with The View is an all ages event. There is a licensed bar on the event site and only ticket holders over the age of 18 will be permitted to purchase alcoholic beverages. Photo ID must be shown.
Please note this is NOT an event for children. If you do decide to bring children it is best to bring some transportable games to keep them entertained. Everyone entering the site MUST HAVE A TICKET there are no concessions for children or infants.
Q: What sort of meal is included? A: Please refer to the hamper menu.
The cost of one hamper is included per ticket holder at Lawn with The View. Patrons will redeem their hamper on the event site.
Q: What time are the fireworks? A: There are two fireworks displays on New Years Eve; one display at 9.00pm and another display at midnight. Both fireworks presentations are synchronised to music which is played via the official radio broadcaster at the event.

Q: When do tickets go on-sale? A: Ticket sales will commence at 9.00 am Monday 12 October 2009.
Q: When do ticket sales close? A: Ticket sales will close 5 pm Friday 19th December 2008 unless SOLD OUT prior.

Entry Information
Q: How do I access Lawn with The View? A: Lawn with The View is held at Bennelong Lawn at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Entry to the event is via Macquarie Street (near the Conservatorium of Music).

Q: What time should I arrive? A: Entry to Lawn with The View opens at 7.00pm. Please allow additional travel time on New Year’s Eve. There is no need to arrive more than half an hour prior to gates opening as only ticket holders will be allowed entry to the site. Please note all guests must enter the site by 8.30pm. There will be no further admissions after this time.
Q: What should I bring? A: Bring cash (no money facilities onsite), warm clothing, comfortable shoes and a picnic rug to sit on.
Beverages are available for sale at the event site. No glass, alcohol or opened beverages will be permitted onsite.
Q: What will not be permitted? A: Alcohol, illegal substances, video and audio recording devices, opened beverages (including water bottles), chairs, weapons, glass and aerosol cans. Please bring a picnic blanket.
Please note large golf umbrellas will NOT be permitted. Smaller personal umbrellas are permissible (under 50 cm).
All ticket holders are subject to a bag search on entry.
Q: Can I get a pass-out once I have entered the Lawn with The View event? A: No - there are no pass-outs from the site once a ticket holder has entered. There will not be any exceptions.
Q: Can I bring alcohol to Lawn with The View? A: No - Lawn with The View is a licensed event, a range of alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for sale.
Please note a condition of entry to the site will be to participate in a bag check conducted by event security.
Opened beverages (including water) will be confiscated at the bag check.
The Trust reserves the right to confiscate any restricted items and/or refuse entry to any persons not complying with conditions of entry.
Q: I have a special dietary requirement. What should I do? A: The menu does endeavour to cater for all dietary requirements offering a standard or vegetarian meal selection upon booking.
Facilities at the Event
Q: Is there an ATM or Credit Card Facilities onsite? A: Please note there are no ATM facilities onsite. If you need to visit an ATM you MUST do this prior to entering the Lawn with The View event site.
Organisers recommend you bring cash onsite to Lawn with The View.
Q: Is there a dress code for the Lawn with The View event? A: Guests are advised to wear comfortable clothing and footwear (remembering the event site is grass covered - high heels do sink into the grass!). Guests are also advised to bring warmer clothing as it can become quite cool at night.
Q: Can I bring my car or park at Lawn with The View? A: NO, NO, NO! There is no parking and/or vehicle access to the Lawn with The View Site. Macquarie Street will be closed to traffic on Thursday 31st December 2009. All ticket holders are advised to use public transport; the closest train station is Martin Place. Q: Is Lawn with The View a wheelchair accessible event? A: Yes access to Lawn with The View is wheelchair accessible. Limited disabled parking is located on Art Gallery Road approx 2 km from the event site. This is for current permit holders only and can be booked on 02 9231 8111.
