Phillip Precinct

Commonly referred to as the Domain, the Phillip Precinct with its open spaces, stately fig trees, historic monuments and statues is the largest open space in the central business district and accommodates up to 40,000 people. This historic site is suitable for large concerts, festivals, sporting events and community-related activities.

Annual events such as Homebake, Carols in the Domain, Field Day, Jazz in the Domain, Symphony in the Domain, Opera in the Domain and Tropfest are held in the Summer months of September to February. The Mothers Day Classic Fun Run and Walk are held in May.

Pre-booked team sports activities are held during the day from April to August. During this period, a two-day venue hire is available Saturdays and Sundays. The Phillip Precinct, as well as other suitable sites in the Domain Precinct, may also host smaller events.

Please contact the Events Office Venue Coordinator to confirm availability and suitability of your event prior to submitting a written proposal.  Event proposal guidelines and a site map can be downloaded below. Hire fees are determined on submission of a detailed event proposal.
