Train: the nearest station is Martin Place. Other stations close to the Royal Botanic Gardens are St James and Circular Quay.
Ferry: an easy walk from Circular Quay
Bus: the 441 (Balmain via QVB Building) leaves York Street, Town Hall on weekdays, stopping outside the Art Gallery of NSW. The Sydney Explorer Bus also includes the Royal Botanic Gardens on its route and the 200 (Chatswood to Bondi, stops in Macquarie Street).
Car: there is metered parking along Mrs Macquaries Road, Hospital Road and Macquarie Street. Undercover parking is available at the Domain Car Park.

Wheelchair hire: available at the Gardens Shop in the Palm Grove Centre.
Accessible paths: most areas of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain are wheelchair accessible, other than the steep paths and stairs. Accessible routes and toilets in the Gardens are signposted and shown on the map. There are two accessible routes linking the Domain to Woolloomooloo on the eastern side (one opposite the Woolloomooloo Gate, the other on the southern side of the Art Gallery of NSW, both paths indicated by symbols on map).

Palm Grove Centre: located in the centre of the Royal Botanic Gardens, includes Gardens Shop, Visitor Information area, Botanic Gardens Restaurant & Cafe and Toilets
Visitor information: located in the Palm Grove Centre, open 9.30 am to 4.30 pm daily except Christmas Day and Good Friday.
Gardens Shop: located in the Palm Grove Centre, open 9.30 am to 5 pm daily except Christmas Day and Good Friday. Phone 9231 8125.
Guided walks:

Gardens Restaurant closure
Please note that the Botanic Gardens Restaurant will be closed for roof repairs commencing Monday 25 May. The area around the building will be fenced off and scaffolding erected. Work is expected to be completed around the end of June 2009. The Restaurant will be closed during this time but the Cafe underneath will continue to operate. We apologise for any inconvenience. |
