Transform: Landmark venues, blue chip locations: EOIs sought for food and beverage services.

A rare business opportunity is now presented for experienced and capable operators to submit Expressions of Interest to transform the delivery and management of Sydney’s iconic Royal Botanic Garden and Domain food and beverage services.

The Royal Botanic Garden & Domain Trust (Trust) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for its three-existing and iconic food and beverage venues, comprising the Botanic Gardens Restaurant & Botanic Gardens Café, the Pavilion Restaurant & Kiosk and The Calyx & Calyx Café.
The leases on these venues will come to an end on 30 June 2018. Expressions of Interest may be lodged for any one or more or all venues.

“The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is the ninth highest visited destination in Australia for international tourists. In the past year, more than ten million visits were made to both the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and Domain,” said Rocco Sergi, Business Development Manager, Botanic Gardens & Centennial Parklands. The food and beverage you consume while visiting an attraction is part of your visitor experience and we want that experience to be both memorable and world-class,” Sergi said.

Situated in the heart of the Sydney CBD, the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and Domain occupies a coveted 30 hectares of harbourside green space, surrounded by the world-renowned Sydney Harbour, Opera House and Harbour Bridge. This beautiful site sits at the heart of Sydney, playing host to many and varied events including New Year’s Eve on the Harbour, Carols at the Domain, and Vivid Sydney Festival to name just a few.

Sell out events throughout the year feature Field Day, Harbour Life and Redbull Music Festival Weekender. Millions of dollars are also raised through charity and community events including Mother’s Day Classic, Sydney Running Festival and Run to Cure. During 2016-17, 28,000 patrons attended eight simultaneous free and ticketed events at the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain during New Year’s Eve Celebrations. And in the new year, over 78,000 patrons attended the 2017 Open Air Cinema season at Fleet Steps.

Proposals are now open to be lodged by individuals, organisations, joint ventures or consortia that can demonstrate the necessary food and beverage experience, business skills, commercial acumen and financial capability to manage, operate and realise the maximum potential of these landmark and iconic venues.
