Thank you for supporting your Botanic Gardens in these extraordinary times.
With up to 50% of the world’s plant species now facing extinction, we are acutely aware of the urgent need to work collectively to address the environmental challenges facing our planet. Your support is so valuable to ensure the Botanic Gardens can continue to build a safety net for our future.
Your support makes a huge difference.
The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah suffered catastrophic damage from the 2019/20 bushfires that swept the nation. Over 200 hectares of natural areas were extensively burnt as well as hundreds of plants within the Garden’s Living Collection. Profits from this bottle will help support the Garden’s horticultural and science staff rebuild and restore this crucial collection.
Our recovery efforts include:
· monitoring and assessing the impacts of bushfires
· preserving seeds and plant cuttings to safeguard against extinction
· providing government, industry and community with evidence-based land regeneration technology
· providing an unparalleled permanent record of NSW plants within our collections.
Our Botanic Gardens and the work of the Trust is more valuable now than ever before. Thank you for your donation to help protect our plants and our future.
