First Contacts will help students explore the impacts of colonisation on Indigenous peoples, specifically the Gadigal of Sydney Cove and clans of surrounding areas.
Through this program, participants will learn about the personal relationships between the local Indigenous peoples and the British and how those relationships aided in keeping the history of its time well documented.
Join us to explore these stories with our First Nations educators.
- Students will understand the importance of Country and Place to Aboriginal people, their relationship with the land and uses of plants for food, medicine, and shelter
- Students will also discuss Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal perspectives of 'contact' and 'invasion'
