The Maiden Theatre (the Theatre) was built at the turn of the 20th century and has been beautifully restored to its Victorian grandeur.

Set within the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, this venue is ideal for daytime events including launches and intimate cocktail style functions.

Client Access
Approved vehicles (for deliveries only) may access the Palm House via Access Road off Mrs Macquaries Road.
Rangers will be responsible for opening and closing the venue as required. Prior to the booking, a schedule of your access requirements will need to be provided to the Functions Coordinator.

The Trust will clean the venue immediately prior to your event. The venue must be left clean and tidy with all furniture, equipment and rubbish removed. 

No items can be attached to internal walls, trees, buildings, heritage features or other fixed structures.

  1. 20% discount applies for bookings Monday - Thursday 8.00 am - 5.00 pm.
  2. All fees quoted are GST inclusive. Additional miscellaneous charges may apply.
  3. Duration of Function Hire is to include set up and pack up of venue.
  4. Bookings outside of the Garden opening times will incur an additional security fee.
  5. Fees valid 1 October 2020 - 30 June 2021.

All furniture must remain inside the Maiden Theatre. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to arrange all necessary furniture for their requirements.

Please note these facilities are inside the function space and not in a separate room or area. No further kitchen facilities are available in the Maiden Theatre. 

The room has three levels of lighting operated by three switches. All switches must be turned on for full lighting. 

Guest parking is available in metered parking bays on Mrs Macquaries Road.
One complimentary vehicle permit is provided to the Hirer for use in an unallocated metered parking bay on Mrs Macquaries Road.

Several 10 amp power points available as per floor plan.
All extension leads are the responsibility of the hirer. 

Train: The closest train stations are Martin Place Station and St James Station.
Bus: Bus #441 to the Art Gallery of NSW.
Taxi: Taxi pick up from Mrs Macquaries Road. Client to arrange if required.

A security guard can be provided for the duration of your event. Security is optional Monday to Friday while the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney is open but mandatory on weekends or once the Garden is closed.

Portable signage will be placed outside on the day of your booking leading to the venue. There is also permanent signage throughout the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney giving directions to the venue. 
There is strictly no smoking inside the venue. All cigarette butts must be placed in the receptacles outside.
