Herbarium on Stage - Botanist for a Day

Become a botanist for the day in this super fun, free, hands-on workshop! Starting at The Calyx in the heart of the Royal Botanic Garden you’ll get to:

  • Explore the Herb Garden on a sensory tour, where kids will smell, touch and taste plants that have been important to people for thousands of years.
  • Get your hands dirty in a potting session, where kids will plant their own seedling to take home.
  • Learn to create your very own plant specimen just like botanists do! You’ll be given a beautiful dried flower or fascinating leaf to start your very own collection of pressed plants.
Before or after the workshop you can stay a little longer and check out Plants with Bite!, the new carnivorous plant display at The Calyx that tells the story of the captivating and bizarre world of carnivorous plants.
A partnership between the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and Klorane Botanical Foundation, this workshop aims to foster plant knowledge and passion in the next generation
