Tomato Festival Sydney 2020

Seven years on but no itch! The Tomato Festival Sydney is back for its seventh festival on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 February 2020.

New in 2020 will be extended hours on Saturday with twilight drinks and festivities until 7 pm, workshops including a still life art workshop with Charlotte Thodey, cooking masterclass, along with more stalls and children’s  activities in the village.

The theme for 2020 is the joy of the kitchen garden.

The Longest Tomato Lunch, Harris Farm Markets Tomato Mandala, Community Greening Cooking & Learning Hub, children’s activities, live music and DJ will all be back to transform the foreshore lawns of the Garden into a fun and delicious harbourside food festival. The Community Greening Cooking & Learning Hub will be full of interesting gardening talks and cooking demonstrations, easy seasonal recipes, hot tips on creating kitchen gardens, health benefits of gardening, how to keep your plants healthy and more. The mobile cooking pod has been generously sponsored by Electrolux.

2020 is the UN International Year of Plant Health. Healthy plants mean healthier people and a healthier planet. Come and hear from Dr Brett Summerell, Director Research and Chief Botanist, about keeping your kitchen garden healthy and productive in an environmentally friendly way.
Award-winning chef Luca Ciano will be back with another mouth-watering menu for the Longest Tomato Lunch. Our stall holders are honing their skills making condiments, sauces, bread, sustainable food wraps and putting their thinking caps creating an amazing range of tomato inspired food and drinks. Costa Georgiadis returning as the Festival Ambassador.

Pop down to the Festival Village on Saturday afternoon relax in the cool of the late afternoon early evening for happy hour with live music by the Flashy Dash-backs. Chill out in the pop-up bar areas, sample delicious food, sip on a cold Italian beer or enjoy a Seedlip blend - the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirit!

For those with a green thumb there's the best homegrown tomato competition (entries close Thursday 13 February). The field is wide open so get ready and don’t miss out.
