Sogetsu Ikebana Awakening Exhibition, Demonstrations and Workshops

Presented by Sogetsu School of Ikebana Sydney/ NSW

After every storm comes a rainbow. Australia has seen much hardship over the past year and more. Let’s take time to celebrate our lives, look to the beauty of nature and awaken our senses with uplifting Sogetsu Ikebana on display at The Calyx.

The exhibition features a collection of masterful floral arrangements in traditional Japanese style which will delight and surprise. Learn the history and story behind these stunning modern displays of a 500-year-old tradition which started with the buddhist monks, the aristocracy and Samurai class in Japan and hear from the artists about what they find so inspiring about this ancient art.
